Position Overview:
The Healthcare Security Specialist will operate under the guidance of departmental leadership to uphold hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Vigilantly monitor assigned areas to identify and report potential safety risks and unusual activities.
- Manage the Visitor Management System for the Emergency Department and oversee access control measures.
- Conduct investigations into complaints or suspected criminal activities, assist in patient restraint when necessary, and provide protective services to all stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:
- Previous experience in a security role, preferably within a healthcare environment, is preferred.
- Experience as a first responder is advantageous.
- Background in customer service or public-facing roles is desirable.

Licenses and Certifications:
- Must maintain a valid driver's license.
- Completion of endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification is required within 3 months of hire.
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of hire.
- OCAT, PATH, and HERT Certifications are required within specified timeframes.
- Basic certification from the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety is required within 1 year of hire.

Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations is essential.
- Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Flexibility to rotate duties across various locations and roles.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Capacity to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Compensation:
Pay Range: $26.17

Competitive Differential Rates:
- $4.20 for Evenings
- $8.00 for Nights
- $4.70 for Weekends
