As a Medicaid Eligibility Specialist at UNC Health Care, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive the benefits they deserve. Your expertise will help patients navigate the Medicaid application process, providing them with the resources they need to access quality healthcare.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise patients on Medicaid application procedures and Social Security Disability benefits
  • Follow up with patients and County DSS to ensure timely processing of applications
  • Analyze patient assets, income, and potential for disability to determine eligibility
  • Evaluate denials and represent patients at county and state hearings


Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in business or related field (years of experience may be substituted for degree)
  • Minimum of four years of related experience in social services or healthcare
