About the Role

As a Radiologic Technologist I at UNC Health Care, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality radiographic and diagnostic studies under the clinical direction of a Radiologist. Your responsibilities will include ensuring film quality, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produces routine and specialized radiographs, including bone surveys, peg placements, and scoliosis series.
  • Applies radiation safety guidelines and patient protection protocols.
  • Provides emotional support and comfort to patients, as well as general assistance and information.
  • Coordinates with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless care.
  • Operates and maintains radiographic equipment, film processors, and other departmental equipment.
  • Documents patient records accurately and efficiently.
  • Provides instruction and training to other employees, new employees, and students on radiologic procedures.
  • Participates in quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school or program of Radiologic Technology.
  • Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Students within an accredited school or program recognized by the ARRT are eligible to apply, with the requirement to pass the registry within 6 months of hire.
