Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at AdventHealth Orlando. As a Children's Transport Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing emergency care to acutely ill neonatal and pediatric patients in collaboration with the Medical team for the receiving neonatal or pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate emergency care for neonatal and pediatric patients
  • Provide family-centered care, including psychosocial support, education, and transfer planning
  • Maintain effective communication with referral staff and families
  • Participate in educating staff from referring facilities through informal teaching and planned educational classes and/or conferences
  • Perform airway maintenance, including manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, intubations/extubations, and tracheostomy changes
  • Initiate, maintain, transport, and monitor mechanical ventilators
  • Deliver neonatal resuscitation and assist with APGAR scoring at delivery
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2,000 hours of Neonatal ICU experience (per Florida State Rule 64J)
  • At least one year of pediatric critical care experience
  • Current valid State of Florida license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
