Job Title: Pediatric Critical Care Transport Registered Respiratory Therapist

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Pediatric Critical Care Transport department. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented group of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders.
  • Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain patient records, and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.
  • Demonstrate competency in respiratory therapeutics and in the use of non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary diagnostics, and other equipment required for the provision of respiratory care.
  • Maintain accurate and precise documentation.
  • Communicate openly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in quality control and maintenance of arterial blood gas analyzers, specimen collection, and analysis of blood for gas transport and acid/base determination.
Qualifications:
  • Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences.
  • Advance Critical Care training as defined on Orlando Health's Respiratory Clinical Ladder.
  • Basic computer/mechanical training required.
  • Maintains license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Florida Department of Health.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
  • Advanced Life Support as appropriate per unit and site.
