Job Title:

Pediatric Critical Care Transport Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Summary:

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Pediatric Critical Care Transport Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders. You will initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain patient records, and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat patients with breathing disorders
  • Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures
  • Maintain patient records
  • Select, assemble, check, and operate equipment
  • Demonstrate competency in respiratory therapeutics and use of non-invasive ventilators, pulmonary diagnostics, and other equipment
  • Maintain accurate and precise documentation
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members
  • Maintain quality control and maintenance of arterial blood gas analyzers, specimen collection, and analysis of blood for gas transport and acid/base determination
Qualifications:
  • Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences
  • Advance Critical Care training as defined on Orlando Health's Respiratory Clinical Ladder
  • Basic computer/mechanical training required
  • Maintain license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Florida Department of Health
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Maintain current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification
  • Advanced Life Support as appropriate per unit and site
