Position Overview:

The Fleet Operations Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in leading a dedicated team of technicians, welders, and administrative staff responsible for the upkeep and repair of fleet vehicles and equipment. This position is essential for ensuring that all maintenance and repair activities align with safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage a team of maintenance professionals to guarantee that all maintenance tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and promptly.
  • Oversee the planning and scheduling of repair work to enhance productivity while managing overtime effectively.
  • Monitor shop performance metrics and implement necessary adjustments to improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and perform fleet inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Facilitate employee training, performance evaluations, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program and manage costs related to personnel and inventory.
  • Perform inspections of external repair work to ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards.
  • Administer payroll and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and employee performance.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to anticipate business needs and plan resource allocation effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop solutions for various operational challenges.
  • Excellent organizational and financial management skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within fleet maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience in a relevant field.
