Position Overview


An exciting opportunity awaits for an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) to deliver Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC), Assistive Technology (AT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) therapy and training services to individuals with diverse disabilities.

Candidates should be prepared to travel to various locations throughout Central Maryland and possess flexibility in their schedules, caseloads, and collaborative work with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate AT Setup and Training focusing on physical access, cognitive support, and low vision needs.
  • Deliver AAC training services tailored for individuals with disabilities, following plans established by licensed speech-language pathologists.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to AAC and AT tools.
  • Support the preparation and organization of training materials and resources.
  • Prepare necessary written reports.
  • Manage case responsibilities, including scheduling, billing, and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate training logs documenting client progress.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development within the field.
  • Travel across various counties, with travel reimbursement provided.

Qualifications:
  • Active Certification as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) through RESNA.
  • General knowledge of AAC and AT devices.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Skills:
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication.
  • Experience in AAC/AT service provision is preferred.

Requirements:
  • COVID-19 Vaccination.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Motor Vehicle Record with 2 or fewer points.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to read small print and perform perceptual diagnostic assessments, along with the capacity to reach, stoop, crouch, push, walk, stand, and lift 25 pounds.
