POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is tasked with protecting the organization's assets and ensuring that financial records are maintained in compliance with established accounting principles. The CFO plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to financial policies and internal controls, while also being an integral part of the leadership team responsible for shaping and executing strategic initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The CFO is responsible for identifying financial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them, as well as communicating financial opportunities to senior leadership. This role includes monitoring financial performance and ensuring the development of accurate financial forecasts. The CFO must possess strong business acumen to collaborate effectively with various departments, including Compliance, Accounting, and Internal Audit.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing operational results to ensure alignment with budgetary goals and advising management on necessary adjustments.
  • Establishing robust financial controls and overseeing expenditure approvals.
  • Staying informed about regulatory changes and adapting policies accordingly.
  • Ensuring ethical conduct in all financial operations.
  • Developing and monitoring the annual budget in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Preparing financial reports and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Coordinating with senior leadership on strategic financial planning and capital projects.
  • Evaluating investment opportunities and managing capital expenditures.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of ten years of progressive experience in financial management within the healthcare sector, demonstrating expertise in:

  • General accounting and financial systems.
  • Strategic financial planning and analysis.
  • Negotiating managed care contracts.
  • Understanding healthcare trends and their implications.

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required, with an MBA or CPA designation preferred.
