Position Overview:

The Chief Student Affairs Officer (CSAO) will report directly to the President and be an integral member of the President's Cabinet. This role is pivotal in shaping the strategic vision and direction for the Student Affairs division at Assumption College.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide innovative leadership and quality management across all departments within Student Affairs, emphasizing a commitment to diversity and multiculturalism.
  • Enhance the understanding of Student Affairs among all campus stakeholders, particularly faculty and staff.
  • Maximize the potential of a residential campus by fostering collaboration with Campus Ministry and Academic Affairs.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with students, staff, faculty, administrators, parents, alumni, and the broader community.
  • Ensure responsiveness to student needs while promoting responsible student leadership and accountability.
  • Organize and manage complex operations, demonstrating effective problem-solving and sound financial management.
  • Stay informed on legal issues and compliance requirements related to student life activities and programs.
  • Foster an environment of openness, creativity, and vision within the Student Affairs division.
  • Serve as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Student Affairs within a primarily residential university setting.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Ability to inspire and mentor students, fostering collaboration.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.
