Staten Island, New York, United States Center for Justice Innovation Full time
Job Description

The Center for Justice Innovation is a community justice organization that centers safety and racial justice. We are seeking a Justice System Specialist to join our team in Staten Island, NY.

About Us

Our mission is to drive justice nationwide through innovative and powerful solutions. We accomplish this through three pillars of work: creating and scaling operating programs, performing original research, and providing expert assistance and policy guidance to justice reformers around the world.

The Opportunity

This role is part of our Supervised Release Program (SRP), which seeks to re-engineer the experience of criminal court in Staten Island by providing meaningful alternatives to bail, fines, and jail sentences. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide high-quality services to participants and ensure the program's success.

Responsibilities

  • Program Oversight: Ensure that staff complete program-specific training and consistently apply policy, protocol, and best practices aligned with that training.
  • Data Entry and Reporting: Perform routine and accurate data entry and court reporting, and communicate effectively across SRP teams to ensure the program builds on successes and proactively addresses challenges.
  • Clinical Supervision: Provide clinically-informed individual task supervision to Case Managers and Senior Case Managers on a weekly basis.
  • De-Escalation Support: Provide de-escalation support aligned with training, policy, and protocol, as needed.
  • Staff Development: Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new case management staff, as well as providing opportunities for professional growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: Required.
  • Direct Practice Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in therapeutic or case management required.
  • Pretrial/Court-Based Experience: Strongly preferred.
  • Therapeutic Intervention Training: Preferred, including crisis intervention or de-escalation management.
  • Supervisory Experience: Preferred but not required.
