Position Overview
At Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation, we are at the forefront of designing, constructing, and operating advanced aerial vehicles and enabling technologies, transforming innovative concepts into tangible realities.

We are seeking a skilled and driven AI/ML Research Scientist focused on Autonomy to contribute to the evolution of aviation.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this role will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Developing and implementing state-of-the-art AI/ML methodologies to tackle technical obstacles in aerospace and defense sectors.
  • Facilitating the swift creation of pioneering demonstrations and prototypes to advance AI/ML-enabled autonomous systems, which includes modeling, simulation, and real-world vehicle integration.
  • Leading or supporting applied research and development initiatives in partnership with external collaborators, including prestigious institutions.
  • Assisting in the formulation of new research and development project proposals for government initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., PyTorch), artificial intelligence, computer vision, or natural language processing.
  • Proficiency in software development (e.g., Python).
  • Eligibility as a US Person (US citizen or permanent resident/Green Card holder).

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:

  • A PhD degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in robotics or autonomous vehicle technologies.

Physical Requirements
Occasional travel may be necessary, and the selected candidate will be expected to perform some work onsite.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)
Minimum Range: $94,000.00 to $167,000.00
Maximum Range: $113,000.00 to $202,000.00
