About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ambulatory RN-Outpatient Psychiatry Specialist to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our outpatient mental health team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting positive outcomes for our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach, prioritizing the unique needs and concerns of each patient and family.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy requirements, including infection control, OSHA, CLIA, Joint Commission, HIPAA, and scope of practice.
  • Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow, addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.
  • Documents patient care according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
  • Engages in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and reporting important information and updates back to staff.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school is required; BSN highly preferred. If AD hired after Jan 1, 2012, must successfully complete BSN in 5 years of start date.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
  • Three years pediatric clinical experience or equivalent combination of education/experience preferred. Two- three years psychiatry and triage clinical experience required.
  • Able to provide safe and competent care for neonates, pediatric, adolescents, and selected adult patients.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read, and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with little or no difficulty. Must be able to independently lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with the assistance of another person(s) and/or equipment.
