Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled LPN or RN to join our team at Community Medical Services as a Substance Use Disorder Specialist. In this role, you will work with patients to provide medical care and support in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications as ordered by a medical provider
  • Monitor patient behavior and medical symptoms
  • Collect vital signs, blood specimens, and urine samples
  • Process point-of-care urine drug screens
  • Prepare take-home medication
  • Monitor medication administration to prevent diversion
  • Report diversion to internal authorities
  • Maintain accurate client records in our electronic health record system
  • Document medication errors and respond to adverse medical reactions
  • Arrange temporary incoming and outgoing courtesy dosing clients
  • Deliver medications to external facilities
  • Order necessary supplies and medications
  • Maintain accurate medication inventory records
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations
  • Administer CPR as needed
  • Participate in continuing education and job-related training
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Licensed LPN or RN in the state of employment
  • CPR certification required
  • Ability to travel to assigned sites
  • Experience in substance use disorders preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal symptoms
  • Demonstrates accuracy in medication administration and ability to maintain accurate client records
