Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled LPN or RN to join our team at Community Medical Services as a Substance Use Disorder Specialist. In this role, you will work with patients to provide medical care and support in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications as ordered by a medical provider
- Monitor patient behavior and medical symptoms
- Collect vital signs, blood specimens, and urine samples
- Process point-of-care urine drug screens
- Prepare take-home medication
- Monitor medication administration to prevent diversion
- Report diversion to internal authorities
- Maintain accurate client records in our electronic health record system
- Document medication errors and respond to adverse medical reactions
- Arrange temporary incoming and outgoing courtesy dosing clients
- Deliver medications to external facilities
- Order necessary supplies and medications
- Maintain accurate medication inventory records
- Adhere to federal, state, and local regulations
- Administer CPR as needed
- Participate in continuing education and job-related training
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Licensed LPN or RN in the state of employment
- CPR certification required
- Ability to travel to assigned sites
- Experience in substance use disorders preferred but not required
- Knowledge of signs of intoxication and opioid withdrawal symptoms
- Demonstrates accuracy in medication administration and ability to maintain accurate client records
