Position Summary

The Senior Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within the hotel. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and repair, adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of HVAC/R systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Utilize the energy management system effectively, understanding its components and functionality.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and generate detailed reports; address work orders promptly.
  • Respond to guest concerns with professionalism, following established guest service protocols.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment, including ceiling and suspended units, which may involve working at heights.
  • Fulfill all duties associated with the Maintenance Engineer role.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintain accurate logs for all equipment, including refrigeration systems.
  • Manage inventory and requisition necessary parts for repairs.
  • Identify and operate shut-off valves for various systems.
  • Calibrate and repair HVAC control systems as needed.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of pool chemicals and systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Complete required training and stay informed on safety protocols, participating in emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, reporting any hazards or equipment deficiencies to management.
  • Engage in departmental teamwork to solve operational challenges.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors, offering support to other departments when possible.
Qualifications
  • Completion of trade/vocational training or apprenticeship in refrigeration and air conditioning.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in a senior trades capacity.
  • At least 8 years of experience in hotel engineering and maintenance.
  • Proficient in hands-on MEP and pneumatic repair techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics effectively.
  • Must possess a Universal EPA/CFC certification and Pool Certification.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Strong communication skills in English, facilitating interaction with guests and staff.
