Job Summary

As an Instrument Coordinator at Froedtert Health, you will play a critical role in optimizing surgical instrument inventory levels, ensuring availability, and tracking for the OR and other hospital and clinic customer departments. This position requires collaboration with SPD and OR teams to resolve incomplete instrument sets, serving as a liaison between SPD and customer departments for surgical instrumentation needs, and coordinating instrument repairs and preventative maintenance, including obtaining loaners.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates instrument inventory levels, availability, and tracking for the OR and other hospital and clinic customer departments.
  • Maintains on-site hardware implant and backup instrument inventories.
  • Collaborates with SPD and OR teams to resolve incomplete instrument sets.
  • Serves as a liaison between SPD and customer departments for surgical instrumentation needs.
  • Coordinates instrument repairs and preventative maintenance, including obtaining loaners.
  • Completes all required actions in MMIS.
  • Maintains Instrument Tracking Database and other IT systems used for instrument/set management and tracking.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 6 months of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist experience is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation of an allied health program from a technical college is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including basic Excel skills.
  • Sterile processing certification is preferred.
