About the Role


As a Senior Aerial Survey Specialist at NV5 Geospatial, you will play a critical role in collecting and processing geospatial data using cutting-edge LiDAR and imagery sensor systems.


Our team of experts works closely with pilots and survey crews to acquire data in diverse environments, from North America's vast wilderness to urban landscapes.


Responsibilities



  • Acquire airborne data using LiDAR and imagery sensor systems, ensuring high-quality results and adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with pilots and survey crews to coordinate data acquisition, leveraging your technical expertise to troubleshoot issues and optimize the process.
  • Collect, download, and ship gathered geospatial data daily after acquisition, maintaining meticulous field documentation and ensuring seamless data transfer.
  • Participate in extensive field documentation, capturing critical details and providing valuable insights for future projects.
  • Travel extensively by automobile and aircraft, adapting to changing environments and working in diverse conditions.
  • Maintain the safe and secure use of company equipment and instrumentation, upholding NV5's commitment to operational excellence.
  • Troubleshoot and install sensor systems with support from our team, ensuring the highest level of performance and reliability.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures developed for safety and operations in our dynamic environment, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

Requirements



  • 4-year degree from a physical or environmental science, engineering program, or related field.
  • A proven track record of experience in GIS and remote sensing techniques, with a solid understanding of geospatial and aerial survey concepts.
  • Effective technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient and experienced in utilizing cloud-based technology, with a strong understanding of databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A valid driver's license, with the ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions.
  • Field experience, with a background in GPS survey practices and instrumentation.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Aviation background or experience working with survey vehicles on diverse road types and conditions.
  • Current CPR and basic First Aid certification.
  • Ability to report to an acquisition or production facility, with proximity to a medium or large hub primary commercial airport.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
