Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled DB2 Database Administrator to join our team at GovCIO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our databases, providing top-notch support to our clients, and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform data movement, troubleshoot issues, and write scripts to perform common database tasks.
  • Maintain complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection, and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  • Perform installs, configuration, migrations, restores, and monitor the security and performance of the systems to ensure they are not compromised.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to our clients.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on DBMS concepts.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 2-5 years of experience (or commensurate experience).
  • Full knowledge of the job, with a moderate understanding of the general aspects of the job and its application.
  • Strong DB2 database analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated DB2 database configuration and administration experience.
  • Demonstrated DB2 database performance tuning experience.
  • Demonstrated DB2 database backup and data recovery experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux system administration skills.
  • Linux DB2 Version 9+ experience.
  • Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.
  • Able to mentor peers and client staff.
  • Able to provide occasional weekend/off-hours support.
  • Basic scripting experience.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,000 to $98,000 per year, depending on experience. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from diverse candidates.
