Job Summary

Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Careers is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services, working closely with our pharmacists and healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure quality care for clients, including Case Managers, Nurses, and Psychiatrists/Nurse Practitioners.
  • Process prescription claims through all steps of pharmacy workflow, including data entry, insurance billing, production, and pickup.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory to maintain adequate stock levels, ensuring that medications are readily available for patients.
  • Deliver medication to clients in the community, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring patient satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare compliance packaging and manage Central Pharmacy Pickup Station and associated documentation.
  • Conduct end-of-day tasks, daily reports, and register balancing, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide professional customer service to all customers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Verify patient information, including name, address, and insurance details, to ensure accurate billing and processing.
  • Process pharmacy calls and respond to patient inquiries, providing clear and concise information.
  • Complete and process third-party documents, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • File prescription books, new prescriptions, and patient profiles, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Follow Rx pickup processes for patients, verifying IDs and collecting payments as necessary.
  • Process insurance claims information and check for program eligibility, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement.
  • Replenish supplies as needed, maintaining a well-stocked pharmacy environment.
  • Process incoming shipments from vendors, ensuring receipt of all invoiced items and checking for accuracy.
  • Check incoming stock for appropriate shelf life, ensuring that medications are not expired or near expiration.
  • Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily, ensuring that medications are stored within safe temperature ranges.
  • Alert the Pharmacy Director or Lead Pharmacy Technician if temperature goes out of range for USP storage conditions.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the Lead Pharmacy Technician and/or Pharmacy Director immediately for consideration and resolution.
  • Clean pharmacy shelves, work areas, and maintain pharmacy premises in a satisfactory state of cleanliness.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process all filing and bookkeeping functions as deemed necessary by the pharmacist.
  • Consult regularly with the Lead Pharmacy Tech, PIC, and pharmacists for the purpose of expediting the processing of prescriptions.
  • Utilize respectful, trauma-informed language in all aspects of the job.
  • Promote and support Trauma-Informed Care implementation and initiatives within the organization.
  • Has/Maintains a good on-time and attendance record.
  • Input all information needed in the pharmacy system in a timely manner.
Requirements

Riveon Mental Health and Recovery Careers requires the following qualifications and skills for this role:

  • Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience and proficiency with computer-automated pharmacy system(s).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of a GED.
  • Candidates with educational backgrounds and training in trauma-informed and/or trauma-specific services are preferred.
