Role Summary

The Mental Health Technician is an exciting opportunity to expand your role in healthcare through functioning as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary treatment team. This role is responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients while assisting with the provision of basic patient care and recovery needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the unit through excellent patient customer service and clinic management assistance
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, front office staff, and clinic management to ensure comprehensive healthcare outcomes
  • Perform a variety of functions within the clinic setting requiring specialized knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior, conducting patient room searches, reporting unsafe conditions, and applying appropriate emotional and physical support
  • Provide and document interventions in a variety of modalities individually matched to the needs of each patient
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any other human services field required
  • Two (2) years of inpatient Behavioral Health experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration within 60 days of hire unless a higher credential is held
  • Must obtain a Nursing Assistant Registered or CNA prior to start date
  • Health Care Provider level CPR certification
  • Peer MHT: Self-identify as a consumer who has received mental health services and can demonstrate that they have been well grounded in their own mental health recovery for at least one year
  • Must be eligible for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor
  • Minimum one (1) year of direct patient care experience preferred
Pay and Benefits

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $22.25 - $32.69 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
