Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Professional to join our Mobile Response Team (MRT) at Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC). As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide crisis behavioral health services and time-limited case management to individuals in need.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to crisis calls from housing sites and provide timely outreach services to individuals in crisis.
- Complete risk assessments, develop safety plans, and coordinate with clients and housing staff to ensure safety.
- Collaborate with the MRT team to assess situations quickly and respond appropriately to mental health and substance use crises.
- Refer clients to case management for continued support and establish plans to engage them in relevant services and resources.
- Provide follow-up services to coordinate care with case managers, housing staff, and other support services.
- Complete data collection and documentation required by the project and DESC.
- Eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or equivalent to act as a Mental Health Professional.
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a relevant behavioral science.
- Ability to drive an agency or personal vehicle and maintain a current Washington State driver's license.
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders.
- Knowledge of recovery principles, crisis intervention, and stabilization, as well as integrated treatment of co-occurring disorders.
- Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Washington.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English or bi-cultural background/experience.
