Role Responsibilities:
The Neurodiagnostic Tech II is a vital mid-level specialist role. This position involves performing procedures aligned with competency standards, adhering to facility policies, including test setup, electrode application, and ensuring patient safety.
Key Contributions:
- Applies electrodes following ACNS guidelines.
- Conducts prescribed diagnostic testing.
- May engage in video EEG monitoring within the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
- Reviews patient history and provides education regarding procedures.
- Monitors and documents patient conditions, responding to and reporting any adverse reactions.
- Identifies and rectifies artifacts during testing.
- Edits and submits results to the attending physician for further analysis.
- Scores, graphs, analyzes, documents, and reports outcomes of diagnostic procedures.
- Participates in on-call duties as per departmental policy.
- Assists in training Tech I and students.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Graduation from a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic Program or an Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited institution is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a patient care environment performing relevant procedures.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Credentialed in the appropriate modality of practice (e.g., R. EEGT. or r. EPT.)
