Job Summary

Arapahoe Community College is seeking a highly qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at the Child Development Center. As a key member of our educational team, you will be responsible for providing responsive educational opportunities in a nurturing, supportive environment that promotes success for our youngest learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Director of the Child Development Center and the Associate Dean of Education in the management of the classroom, delivering engaging educational experiences.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the classroom, creating and maintaining genuine relationships with children and families, and delivering best practices for each unique child.
  • Plan and conduct assessments, utilizing assessment data, and classroom & individual observations to create informed, meaningful weekly lesson plans.
  • Implement a developmentally appropriate curricular approach, adhering to State of Colorado licensing requirements and NAEYC accreditation standards.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, with a minimum of two, three-semester credit hour courses in Early Childhood Education.
  • Current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II or higher in Version 3.0, or a current professional Teaching License issued by the Colorado Department of Education with an endorsement in the area of Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Early Childhood Special Education Specialist.
  • One year of experience in a quality early childcare center, planning and implementing engaging learning experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices and principles in the delivery of high-quality early childcare and education.
  • Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation standards.
  • Experience creating and implementing integrated lesson plans.
  • Experience with authentic assessment processes and Teaching Strategies Gold assessment tool.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Internet.
