The New York Genome Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Bioinformatics Scientist specializing in Single Cell Analysis. The successful applicant will oversee and collaborate with PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and fellow computational scientists to create novel statistical methodologies and software tailored for single-cell genomic data analysis. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge advancements in single-cell genomics while contributing to pioneering research in cancer immunology and developmental neuroscience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement computational techniques for the analysis of single-cell genomic datasets;
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of open-source software tools;
  • Support data analysis and interpretation across various research initiatives;
  • Assist in managing laboratory servers and computational resources;
  • Prepare and present findings in both written and oral formats to laboratory colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • PhD or MS in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, biochemistry, or a related field;
  • Proficient programming abilities in languages such as R, Python, and BASH;
  • Experience with Linux operating systems;
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Background in statistics or machine learning is advantageous;
  • Familiarity with NGS data analysis, functional genomics, and/or human genetics is preferred.
