Position Overview:

As a Lead Software Architect within the GenAI Knowledge Assets division, you will be pivotal in shaping the technical strategy and direction of our initiatives. Collaborating with diverse teams, including Cybersecurity, AI Services, and Business Development, you will design and implement a comprehensive enterprise solution for GenAI Knowledge Assets. This involves formulating a business strategy, orchestrating knowledge management, and spearheading data product development to enhance Visa's GenAI applications.

Your role will be essential in the leadership framework, establishing a technical roadmap, integrating industry-standard technologies, and refining the knowledge management system. You will work alongside development managers and teams to tackle technical challenges and coordinate with various product and data science teams to streamline feature requests and model integration.

  • Generative AI represents a significant technological evolution with the potential to transform corporate operations and enhance workforce productivity. However, its successful application relies on the availability of high-quality content tailored for the appropriate AI solutions and internal stakeholders.
  • The strategic and operational management of Visa's documents and data for our emerging GenAI tools will be crucial. This role will serve as a vital driver for innovation in GenAI utilization and information governance.
  • You will be tasked with constructing an architecture that aligns with strategic priorities, facilitating access to Visa's valuable document and data resources, while also developing a long-term strategy for GenAI adoption and the necessary cultural transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with project teams, data science units, and development groups to steer the technical roadmap and oversee the creation and deployment of new data-driven business solutions.
  • Establish technical standards and best practices, continuously enhancing the scalability of the AI Platform engineering.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering the development of the team's talent pipeline.
  • Define a structured architectural framework to address the components of our document system, formulate relevant hypotheses, and support project workflows.
  • Facilitate the effective implementation and evolution of document governance based on content, confidentiality, and access requirements.
  • Drive innovation through creative, practical, and disruptive solutions to the challenges encountered.
  • Collaborate with the Global Data Office to devise technological solutions that automate key document management functions and enhance Visa Library capabilities in support of our GenAI tools.
  • Stay informed about the global landscape of AI solutions to leverage internal knowledge and bring the best practices to the Visa ecosystem.
Additional Information:

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing employees to alternate between remote and office work. Hybrid employees are expected to work from the office on set days each week, based on business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• 12+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or at least 9 years of experience with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 6 years of experience with a PhD, or 15+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree, or 12 years of experience with an advanced degree, or a PhD with 9+ years of experience.
• Experience in implementing knowledge frameworks and solutions for GenAI applications is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Rust, Golang, Java, Python, or C/C++.
• Expertise in web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC).
• Advanced knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and Data Science.
• Proven authority in architecting solutions with a focus on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery.
• Expertise in distributed in-memory computing technologies like Redis.
• Experience in the payments domain is a plus.

Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements: This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This role will be performed in an office environment, requiring the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate effectively, and operate standard office equipment.
