Role Summary

The Commercial and Money Movement Solutions (CMS) sector is pivotal to Visa's vision, enhancing the ecosystem for the transfer of funds universally.

We are on the lookout for a committed Lead AI/ML Architect who possesses a strong emphasis on architectural design, collaboration across functions, and innovation. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in crafting CMS AI/ML solutions, steering engineering teams, and collaborating closely with product managers and various stakeholders. This position entails ensuring the effective deployment of AI/ML solutions to optimize money movement processes and enhance the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the organization in leveraging AI solutions to deliver exceptional commercial and money movement applications and services.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to comprehend business requirements, define AI functionalities, and translate these into architectural frameworks and AI algorithms.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure AI/ML architectures.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to guide the execution of AI/ML solutions.
  • Conduct regular assessments and enhancements of existing AI/ML models and architectures to ensure peak performance.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural direction to the AI/ML and engineering teams.
  • Stay updated on the latest AI/ML technologies, architectural patterns, and industry trends to foster innovation and improvement.
  • Evaluate, develop, and deploy cutting-edge technology solutions in the AI & ML domain.
  • Create architectural and technical documentation to assist engineering teams during development and implementation phases.
  • Promote AI best practices through code examples and shareable components, frameworks, and libraries.
  • Contribute to significant CMS technology initiatives.

Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role. Employees can alternate between remote work and office presence. Those in hybrid positions are expected to work from the office 2-3 designated days a week, based on leadership/site decisions, with a general guideline of being in the office 50% or more of the time depending on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of experience with a PhD.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in AI/ML, architecture, and software development.
• Extensive experience in a similar capacity, ideally within the Payments sector, with a strong focus on architectural design, Generative AI, and software development.
• Profound knowledge of AI/ML and Generative AI algorithms and their applications.
• Experience with both commercial and open-source large language models (LLM) and popular machine learning platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Spring AI, and similar AI/ML tools.
• Demonstrated experience assisting engineering teams in the implementation of AI/ML and Generative AI models in production settings.
• Proven experience with data processing, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work under pressure and troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.

Travel Requirements: This position may require travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This role will be conducted in an office environment. The incumbent will be required to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and via telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
