Overview

The Culinary Operations Manager plays a pivotal role as the culinary and operational authority within the designated region. This position encompasses the comprehensive oversight of culinary production, procurement, sustainability initiatives, and program development, while also facilitating the launch of new community dining services.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and standardize pricing, products, and budget allocations for food procurement.
  • Assist in formulating short- and long-term financial objectives aligned with purchasing goals.
  • Engage in meal preparation and product verification to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Monitor service delivery and interact with guests to foster positive dining experiences.
  • Forecast food purchasing expenses to meet company targets quarterly and annually.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop operational strategies.
  • Lead and inspire a motivated team through effective communication, empowerment, and coaching.
  • Manage client relationships to uphold satisfaction and retention.
  • Participate in strategic planning and oversee initiatives.
  • Assess unit manager performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure effective communication with unit managers to promote a culture of collaboration and trust.
  • Establish and track metrics to evaluate operational and leadership effectiveness.
  • Oversee high-profile client catering events.
  • Ensure compliance with operational frameworks, including safety regulations and personnel guidelines.
  • Implement corrective action plans as necessary to address departmental challenges.
  • Define departmental roles and coordinate functions across units.

This role is integral to our Operations Support Team, responsible for managing performance and recruitment within the culinary department of newly established or transitioning locations.

Work Environment

The position operates in a kitchen setting where employees may utilize various equipment, including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and more. Exposure to heat, steam, and noise is common. Additionally, office tasks will involve standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be capable of performing essential functions, which may include sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds. Prolonged standing may be required, along with manual dexterity and the ability to follow instructions.

Qualifications

Required: Culinary school certificate or degree, or equivalent experience; 5 years of culinary experience.

Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Certification: ServSafe Certification required.
