Director of Alumni Engagement

Join the University of North Texas System as a Director of Alumni Engagement, a key role in our Division of University Advancement. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to engage alumni, foster a sense of community, and promote philanthropy.
About the RoleThe Director of Alumni Engagement will oversee the development and implementation of alumni engagement programs, including volunteer management, event planning, and communication strategies. This role will work closely with the Assistant VP of Alumni Engagement to ensure alignment with the division's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans for alumni engagement, including volunteer management, event planning, and communication strategies.
- Oversee the development and implementation of alumni programs, including the Alumni Scholarship program.
- Collaborate with the Department of Communications to ensure effective communication and marketing initiatives.
- Supervise professional staff, including alumni volunteer networks, early engagement, and alumni engagement & scholarships.
- Develop and manage program area budgets, ensuring expenditures are within allocated budget and aligned with goals.
- Provide guidance, support, and direction to foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Bachelor's Degree and six years of professional experience in alumni relations, engagement, donor relations, public relations, or sales, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships with internal and external constituents.
- Thorough knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, and execute strategies.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Work experience in higher education and at least 5 years of experience in alumni engagement.
- Program management and event planning skills.
- Strong collaborative leadership skills and ability to work effectively as a team member.
- A high degree of energy, creativity, and initiative.
The University of North Texas System offers a competitive salary range of $82,000 - $95,000, a comprehensive benefits package, and a hybrid remote work opportunity.
