Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to spearhead Engineering and continuous improvement initiatives across various Service Centers nationwide. This role involves planning, managing projects, and assisting in the layout design of equipment, office spaces, and production facilities. You will conduct operational studies to enhance workflow and optimize spatial utilization while ensuring efficiency and safety in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Identify, develop, and implement innovative technologies, methodologies, and processes to enhance ORBIS RPM operations.
  2. Collaborate with Operations to pinpoint and resolve issues, standardizing processes to minimize waste through continuous improvement strategies.
  3. Gather data, perform analyses (using motion and time studies, plant layouts, process mapping, Lean & Six Sigma tools, etc.), and offer recommendations to address process challenges.
  4. Prepare project cost justifications and submit documentation for management review.
  5. Manage key tactical and strategic projects effectively.
  6. Facilitate cross-functional teams (Kaizen or similar).
  7. Create and update Service Center layouts using AutoCAD.
  8. Support and execute project implementation tasks to achieve and maintain improvement objectives.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Performance Metrics:
  1. Monthly reporting on continuous improvement initiatives.
  2. Timely project delivery.
  3. Achieve continuous improvement savings targets through project identification, execution, and sustainability.
  4. Successful management of key strategic projects.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably in manufacturing or industrial engineering. Lean training and/or certification and Project Management certification are preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements.

Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is required.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 70% domestically and internationally to support business needs, including overnight stays and extended hours during work meetings.

Additional Skills:

  1. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project and Visio.
  3. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within broadly defined policies and practices.
  4. Strong facilitation, coaching, and project management abilities.
  5. Effective interaction and communication with a diverse range of roles, from frontline staff to executive management.
  6. Capability to apply technical, scientific, and mathematical knowledge to design and implement processes that safely achieve desired outcomes.
  7. Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies for waste identification and elimination.
  8. Experience in creating and modifying 2D AutoCAD drawings.
  9. Availability outside of standard business hours.
