Position OverviewThe RPM Industrial Engineer will spearhead engineering and continuous improvement initiatives across various Service Centers nationwide. This role involves planning, managing projects, and assisting in the design of equipment layouts, office spaces, and production facilities. You will conduct operational studies to enhance workflow and optimize space utilization while ensuring workplace safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Identify and implement innovative technologies and processes to enhance ORBIS RPM operations.
- Collaborate with Operations to troubleshoot issues and standardize processes, aiming to minimize waste through continuous improvement strategies.
- Gather and analyze data using motion and time studies, plant layouts, and Lean & Six Sigma methodologies to provide actionable recommendations.
- Prepare project cost justifications and secure management approval for initiatives.
- Lead and manage critical tactical and strategic projects.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams for improvement initiatives.
- Create and revise Service Center layouts using AutoCAD.
- Support project implementation to achieve and maintain improvement objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Monthly reporting on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Timely project delivery.
- Achievement of cost savings targets through effective project execution.
- Successful management of key strategic projects.
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in manufacturing or industrial engineering. Lean Training and/or Project Management certification is preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience is required.
Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 70% domestically and internationally, including overnight stays and extended hours for work meetings.
Additional Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project and Visio.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects within defined policies.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and project management abilities.
- Effective interaction with various roles, from frontline staff to executive management.
- Technical and mathematical aptitude for designing and implementing processes.
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tools for waste reduction.
- Experience in creating and modifying 2D AutoCAD drawings.
- Availability for work outside standard business hours.
