Position Purpose: This role is established to enhance capabilities and eliminate losses within the Processing Team at the fairlife facility.

The primary function of this position is to serve as a Senior Technician within the Processing Team. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety of team members and equipment, overseeing production processes from product reception to separation, filtration, batching, blending, and pasteurization. The role also involves participating in training initiatives and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Aids, utilizing Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies such as SMED/VSM and Lean, while leading or supporting training efforts to ensure production meets efficiency, quality, and food safety standards.

The incumbent will possess a solid understanding of inventory management, maintenance planning, and operational maintenance procedures. This individual will facilitate and support post-action CI activities and improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with the plant's CI team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Emphasize problem-solving and loss prevention in all activities.
  • Establish and define equipment standards, collaborating with team members to implement them across all shifts.
  • Identify, prioritize, and eliminate process losses, leading discussions on losses and developing a monthly Top Three Plan.
  • Train team members on various operational topics, ensuring progress towards training objectives.
  • Lead or assist in CI activities, developing problem statements and employing advanced analysis techniques to identify root causes.
  • Support validation and change management resulting from process improvement initiatives.
  • Enhance process capability and control using PQM/MU/SPC/RE methods.
  • Act as a lead or support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
  • Participate in the 90 Day Plan team for the department.
  • Collaborate with Processing and Maintenance staff to define, create, and monitor Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of equipment CLs, CILs, AM, and light maintenance, training and deploying these skills throughout the team.
  • Support hands-on production activities from Raw Milk Receiving to UHT operation and Aseptic Tank filling.
  • Serve as a backup to the Shift Lead or Supervisor as necessary.
  • Engage in team-building activities in a leading or supporting capacity.
  • Set a standard for safety practices and advocate for a safe, incident-free environment.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in beverage manufacturing operations, preferably in dairy or brewed beverages, within a facility producing at least 20 million annual cases.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a beverage manufacturing environment utilizing a Continuous Improvement approach.
  • Progression to Senior Level or Team Lead roles with demonstrated increases in responsibility.
  • A Bachelor of Science or a Two-Year Technical Certification in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience in dairy, carbonated soda, or brewing liquid production is highly desirable.
  • Intermediate to advanced interpersonal skills, effective in team settings.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Report any necessary repairs or adjustments that may impact product quality or food safety.
  • Understand and comply with the color-coded container policy in production areas.
  • Fulfill all duties to meet Company, Customer, and Government standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Initiate actions to prevent nonconformities related to Food Safety and product quality.
  • Identify and document any issues concerning Food Safety and ingredient quality.

Reports To: Senior Manager of Processing

Travel Requirements: 5% annually, with increased travel anticipated during training/onboarding.
