Overview

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join the Buildings MEP group in Rochester, NY.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Design for Buildings, with a strong understanding of commercial, office buildings, and government facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and assess project designs, utilizing mechanical engineering principles to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Perform calculations using software, spreadsheets, and hand calculations to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Create and review mechanical design plans, models, and details in Revit and AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct site visits, observe ongoing construction progress, and survey mechanical components of existing buildings to inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with architects, owners, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Perform quality control tasks, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients, sharing information and new ideas to improve processes and achieve project goals.
  • Participate in training seminars and presentations by professional organizations to enhance design knowledge and business skills.
Qualifications

6+ years of experience in Mechanical Design for Buildings

AA Degree

Strong technical skills, with a focus on commercial, office buildings, government facilities, and manufacturing

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
