Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Rotork, a leading global flow control and instrumentation company. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and products that meet the needs of our customers.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement mechanical designs and solutions that meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Contribute to project plans and influence project timescales to ensure timely delivery of mechanical systems and products.
  • Undertake design reviews to ensure that mechanical designs and solutions comply with specifications and relevant standards.
  • Respond to stakeholder specifications and develop cost estimates in collaboration with business disciplines.
  • Present analysis results and project solutions to key stakeholders, including technical leads, senior leaders, and customers.
  • Develop and execute functional and non-functional test specifications to ensure compliance requirements.
  • Prepare technical records and reports to demonstrate compliance with associated specifications and relevant standards.
  • Design mechanical systems and products to meet internationally recognized standards.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including Sales, Service, Production, Buying, and Quality Departments.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Product Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Previous design experience in detailed mechanical design of mechanisms and static structures.
  • Proven experience in designing, problem-solving, and enhancing existing or new products.
  • Experience with task management, defect management, requirements capture, verification, and validation tools.
  • 3D CAD modeling through to detailed manufacturing drawings to international standards.
  • Experience in material research and modern part manufacturing techniques.
  • Analysis and simulation of parts/mechanisms using hand calculations and computational finite element analysis.
  • Travel to customers, suppliers, and associated companies in the UK and abroad.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in applying international design standards.
  • Experience in:
    • Aluminium/iron casting design
    • Plastic moulding design
    • Gear design
  • Utilization of advanced computational and simulation techniques (e.g., AMESIM, MATLAB, Simulink).
