Job Summary

The SBA Business Development Officer will be responsible for generating SBA loans and cross-selling deposit products to assist the Bank in reaching its production goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate sound SBA loans that comply with current SBA SOP requirements and Bank policy.
  • Interview loan customers and request specified information for loan applications.
  • Analyze applicant's financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan.
  • Corroborate with credit analysts to prepare loan approval memorandums, including resolving underwriting and application questions with the applicant.
  • Present approval recommendations to senior management and loan committee.
  • Coordinate with packagers and closers to ensure efficient loan closings, including diligent attention to clearing the closing needs list.
  • Ensure loans are closed in accordance with all conditions of approval.
  • Participate in training, professional development, and performance at all levels within the Bank as seen by management to enhance individual's overall performance.
  • Engage in community and civic duties to develop a positive public perception of the Bank and to effectively determine the credit needs of the community.

  • Preferred Education/Experience/Software:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
    • A minimum of five years of prior SBA or USDA experience.
    • Minimum of five years of experience in branch operations, loan production, or credit administration is preferred.
    • The ability to cross-sell bank products with an emphasis on relationship banking is required.
    • Knowledgeable in a wide range of Microsoft Office software applications.
    • Proficient with Fiserv, Enact, and other bank programs.
