Retail Sales Specialist
The Sales Specialist position plays a crucial role in the overall success and efficiency of the store: requiring focused attention to our brand commitment while serving our clientele and achieving results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Floor:
- Aligns decisions with organizational goals and priorities.
- Takes initiative and is dedicated to achieving results, while remaining aware of personal and store performance metrics; collaborates with management to develop personal sales and clienteling strategies.
- Establishes both short- and long-term strategies to meet personal performance objectives.
- Owns personal survey outcomes and formulates plans to enhance and address areas for improvement.
- Acts as a brand ambassador for Coach.
- Exhibits Coach's selling and service standards consistently.
- Recognizes local market changes that may affect business performance and supports the implementation of local sales strategies.
- Boosts business through effective sales strategies, clienteling, and fostering new customer relationships while maintaining ongoing productive connections.
- Creates positive customer experiences by presenting oneself in accordance with Coach's Guide to Style.
- Builds trust and credibility as a personal fashion advisor by demonstrating fashion awareness and a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape.
- Provides extensive product knowledge, including features, benefits, current offerings, and overall product value.
- Communicates current pricing and promotional strategies effectively to customers.
- Utilizes cross-selling techniques to enhance sales and meet customer needs.
- Adapts approach based on customer cues and individual shopping preferences.
- Manages multiple customer interactions simultaneously and transitions as necessary.
- Follows up with customers consistently to influence and close sales.
- Adjusts personal selling techniques to contribute positively to overall store financial outcomes.
- Develops lasting relationships with customers.
- Utilizes Coach's tools and technology to enhance relationship building and clienteling efforts.
- Encourages enthusiasm and positivity towards a shared vision and mission.
- Promotes a collaborative team selling environment.
- Fosters teamwork, trust, and collaboration with both internal and external customers.
- Maintains a solution-oriented mindset; adapts to changing business and store needs.
- Welcomes constructive feedback and adjusts behaviors accordingly.
- Maintains professionalism and composure at all times.
Operations:
- Ensures completion of daily tasks without compromising service or Coach standards.
- Handles daily operational responsibilities including maintaining store appearance, cash wrap, and visual merchandising in accordance with Coach standards.
- Keeps the sales floor clean and organized at all times.
- Adheres to all relevant retail policies and procedures, including POS, Operations, and Asset Protection protocols.
- Restocks inventory on the sales floor as required.
- Supports the Store Inventory Process by managing shipments, stocking shelves, and maintaining strong organizational standards in both the stockroom and sales floor.
- Assists at the cash wrap when necessary to process transactions, returns, and exchanges.
- Efficiently processes customer transactions, including purchases, returns, and exchanges.
- Prepares the store by organizing functional areas, performing routine cleaning, and maintaining visual merchandising standards.
Additional Requirements:
Experience: 1-3 years of prior sales experience, preferably in a luxury retail environment. Must possess current knowledge of fashion trends and competitive market dynamics.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with cash register systems, basic computer skills (including proficiency with iPad/laptop, Mobile POS, and Internet), ability to use walkie-talkies, and understand pricing and product release information.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills with customers and team members. Capability to navigate the sales floor, sales shelves, and stockroom; climbing, bending, and kneeling are necessary. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and carry products/cartons weighing up to 50 pounds for processing shipments and transfers.
Schedule: Must be able to meet Coach's scheduling and availability expectations, including the ability to work a flexible schedule that accommodates nights, weekends, and holidays during high retail traffic periods.
