Job Overview: The Laboratory Science Technician is responsible for executing clinical laboratory tests and assessments in accordance with established protocols that necessitate limited independent judgment and oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine cutting and staining of surgical specimens, including frozen sections and specialized stains.
  • Assist department leadership with daily operational tasks.
  • Provide clinical and operational support to laboratory staff.

Essential Duties: Perform a variety of laboratory procedures that are subject to review, including the preparation and testing of specimens for analysis. Review and report preliminary findings to the supervising technologist for final approval. Maintain accurate documentation and operate laboratory equipment effectively. Uphold quality control and assurance standards. Ensure the laboratory environment is kept clean and organized. Execute all routine cutting and staining of surgical specimens, along with frozen sections and special stains. Undertake related responsibilities as necessary.

Qualifications: An Associate's Degree is required. A current license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Histological Technician in New York State is mandatory, along with any specialized certifications as needed. A minimum of 0-1 years of relevant technical experience is required.

Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $45.39-$55.27/hour. This range represents a good faith estimate of potential base compensation for a successful applicant at the time of this job advertisement and may be subject to change.
