Job Overview

The National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS) is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the planning and execution of multiple projects. As a key member of the program and project management team, this role will provide leadership and support for each step of full-cycle project management.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in R&D project management, with experience working in a manufacturing, advanced technology, or mechanical maintenance environment. They will be responsible for managing collaborative projects that meet technology and business needs of NCMS customers, guiding the development of project concept papers, statements of work, and budgets.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including industry, government, and academic partners. They will also have a strong understanding of project management principles, including Agile methodologies and project scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and meeting customer requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders, including project status, timelines, and budget.
  • Ensure compliance with NCMS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, business, or project management.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in R&D project management, with a strong background in manufacturing, advanced technology, or mechanical maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including Agile methodologies and project scheduling.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
