Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our Admissions Department at Helen Keller Services. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Admissions Coordinator, ensuring the smooth operation of our admissions process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage student contact sheets, medical folders, and admission files
  • Insert new student names in the Admissions Department Referral Folder
  • Update monthly status reports and status sheets
  • Copy and distribute student medical reports, medical coverage, and consent forms
  • Scan and upload student admissions packets to the shared network
  • Arrange airport transportation for new students, families, and escorts
  • Secure overnight accommodations for new students' families and escorts
  • Send admission and welcome letters to students once medically cleared
  • Coordinate with doctors' offices to request medical information
  • Provide receptionist coverage during breaks, lunch periods, and absences
  • Order office supplies and update the Admissions Committee Worksheet
Requirements
  • Associates degree in Business or Administration
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of CIS system for New York students
