Puppy Raising Field Manager

Are you passionate about working with dogs and helping others? Do you have excellent communication and leadership skills? We are seeking a Puppy Raising Field Manager to join our team at Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and apply canine training and socialization skills to raise healthy, happy guide dogs
  • Supervise and support a territory of puppy raising volunteers and approximately 75 dogs
  • Evaluate progress and ensure proper training is taking place
  • Identify, recruit, and train potential new puppy raising volunteers
  • Assist with fundraising, marketing, outreach, and public relations initiatives and events

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience conducting dog training, behavior modification, and placement
  • Knowledge of canine behavior management and ability to assess and evaluate raisers
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience or experience leading classes and instructing others
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit volunteers and identify potential programs and resources within their community
  • Valid driver's license and insurability at non-risk rates
  • Canine behavior certification preferred
