We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology department at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinary oncology team.
Key Responsibilities:- Client Communication: Provide empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients, serving as a strong patient advocate during hospitalization.
- Diagnostic Support: Participate with DVMs in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures, utilizing various modalities of imaging for patient and procedural assessment.
- Sample Processing: Obtain and process laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Sedation and Anesthesia: Execute, monitor, and recover all assigned sedation and anesthetic events, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all equipment on a per-use basis, ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients.
- Chemotherapy Administration: Prepare and administer various chemotherapeutic agents, requiring advanced knowledge and expertise.
- Client Education: Provide extensive client communication and education on various oncology disease processes, empowering clients to make informed decisions.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting, with recent graduates considered.
- Education: Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring, proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens, and working knowledge of radiographic techniques.
- Certifications: RVT or VTS preferred, with current CA RVT license or VACSP required.
- Availability: Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per month, with flexibility to work at least 1-2 holidays or company events per year.
