Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Service Representative to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a key member of our 24/7 Call Center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Excellent Customer Service: Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide accurate information in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate Effectively: Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Work in a Fast-Paced Environment: Manage multiple calls and tasks simultaneously, prioritizing and resolving issues in a calm and composed manner.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with call center supervisors, healthcare professionals, and other team members to resolve customer issues and improve overall service.
  • Stay Up-to-Date on Medical Knowledge: Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and policies to provide accurate and informed responses to customers.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • Experience in Healthcare or Customer Service: One year of experience in a healthcare setting or customer service role, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and support.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, and to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex customer issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows-based computer applications and ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Healthcare or Related Field: Preferred.
  • Call Center Experience: Experience working in a call center environment, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Bilingual or Multilingual: Ability to communicate in multiple languages, with a focus on Spanish.
