About the Role:
The Plant Care Specialist is responsible for the nurturing and management of cannabis plants, adhering to established policies and operational procedures.
- Perform tasks such as sowing, potting, thinning, weeding, watering, transplanting, and relocating plants.
- Identify and address plant pests and potential threats to ensure plant health.
- Provide individualized attention to each marijuana plant to promote optimal growth.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
- Carry out all activities in the vegetative, flowering, and propagation areas.
- Document and track data related to the vegetative and flowering rooms as instructed.
- Ensure cleanliness and operational efficiency in all cultivation and drying rooms.
- Contribute to overall facility cleanliness.
- Participate in the maintenance of mother plants and vegetative plants.
- Notify supervisors if environmental conditions deviate from specifications.
- Maintain open lines of communication with management and colleagues.
- Adhere to all operational guidelines, verbal instructions, training materials, and policies while performing duties.
- Physical Requirements: This role is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), and may be required to walk or stand for extended periods, as well as bend or crouch. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels is expected.
General:
- Qualified candidates must be at least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check, as per state regulations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in hydroponic vegetable production or bedding plant production is preferred.
- Prior experience in nursery, landscaping, or agriculture is advantageous.
- Experience with cannabis cultivation is beneficial.
- Familiarity with automation systems is preferred.
- Basic math skills are necessary.
- Ability to work in a safety-conscious environment.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Effective communication skills are essential.
- A strong work ethic is expected.
- A willingness to learn and adapt is important.
- Capability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods is required.
