Position Overview:The Plant Care Specialist is responsible for the meticulous care and management of cannabis plants, adhering to established policies and operational guidelines.
- Perform essential tasks such as sowing, potting, thinning, weeding, watering, transplanting, and relocating plants.
- Identify and address plant pests and other threats proactively to maintain plant health.
- Provide individualized attention to each marijuana plant to ensure optimal growth.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
- Carry out all necessary activities in the vegetative, flowering, and propagation areas.
- Document and track all relevant data as directed for the vegetative and flowering rooms.
- Ensure cleanliness and operational efficiency in all cultivation and drying rooms.
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the facility.
- Engage in the management of mother plants and vegetative plants.
- Monitor and track clones and mother plants effectively.
- Execute maintenance tasks for mother and vegetative plants.
- Alert supervisors if environmental conditions deviate from specifications.
- Maintain open lines of communication with management and colleagues.
- Adhere to all operational guidelines, training protocols, and policies while performing duties.
- Physical Requirements: This role is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, and balance up to 75 pounds (125 pounds with assistance), and may need to stand or walk for extended periods, as well as bend or crouch frequently. Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels is expected.
- Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a background check, as per state regulations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in hydroponic vegetable production or similar environments is preferred.
- Background in nursery, landscaping, or agriculture is advantageous.
- Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with automation systems is beneficial.
- Basic math skills are necessary.
- Ability to work in a safety-conscious environment.
- Attention to detail is crucial.
- Effective communication skills are required.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential.
