Job Overview

Auben Realty is in search of a qualified Senior Financial Accountant or Lead Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in managing our financial and accounting functions, contributing significantly to our growth trajectory.

Position Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing comprehensive financial operations, ensuring precise financial reporting, and adhering to industry regulations. You will report directly to upper management and guide our accounting team in maintaining financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial reporting processes, including general ledger management, accounts receivable and payable, payroll, and the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Engage with external stakeholders such as investors, lenders, and auditors to facilitate accurate financial transactions and reporting.
  • Manage treasury operations, including bank reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and funding requests.
  • Participate in financial audits and due diligence for acquisitions and asset sales.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls to protect company assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Provide analytical insights and strategic guidance on complex accounting matters.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and overall business strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • 3 to 7+ years of relevant experience in accounting, particularly within the real estate sector, focusing on single-family and multifamily investments.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with AppFolio is a plus.
