Job Summary

The Brookings Institution is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technician to join its team. As a key member of the Communications department, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of webcasts, events, and other digital media productions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and operate a wide range of streaming, broadcast, and audio-visual tools, including encoders, cameras, video displays, web collaboration platforms, computers, mixers, switchers, and recording devices.
  • Provide technical support for webcast operations, including setup, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Communications, business unit, and program planners to ensure seamless execution of meetings and events.
  • Develop and implement plans for webcast production improvements, upgrades, and equipment replacements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications/Production or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with computer-based streaming production tools and Content Distribution Networks (CDN).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact diplomatically with staff and high-profile guests.
