Dining Services Operations Supervisor

Job Summary:

Dining Services at the University of Dayton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full Services Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising daily food service operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct a team of food service staff, including bargaining unit employees, part-time employees, and student employees.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as University policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as hospitality management, culinary arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a food service or hospitality setting.
  • Proven track record of maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of food production and preparation processes, including equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
