This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, a leading organization in the preservation and management of records. As a Supervisory Archives Specialist, you will oversee a team of employees responsible for a full range of record center activities, including receipt, arrangement, storage, preservation, and safeguarding of records, as well as providing reference service on records.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage a team of employees, ensuring the effective execution of record center activities.
- Plan, organize, and review the accuracy and quality of work, ensuring compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Analyze program performance and prepare recommendations for improvement, utilizing automated records control systems and various software applications.
To be eligible for this position, you must have at least one year of experience at the GS-09 level or equivalent, with a focus on records lifecycle monitoring and communication with external customers regarding the retrieval of records. You must also have experience in supervising/leading and managing a group of employees, planning, organizing, and reviewing accuracy and quality of work, or analyzing program performance and preparing recommendations.
EducationYou may substitute education for specialized experience, with a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.
