Job Overview
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As a Clerical Associate Level III, you will foster relationships, address challenges, guide patients to appropriate resources, and manage essential information.
Role Summary:
As a key participant in the revenue cycle, the Registrar/Admitting Representative is tasked with the efficient and precise collection of information to ensure orderly patient registration. Responsibilities include gathering demographic and insurance details at the point of registration.
Key Responsibilities:
·Accurately document and register patient demographic and insurance information within the Health Information System, either at the registration desk or at the patient's bedside.
·Facilitate follow-up appointment scheduling and referral processes.
·Evaluate and confirm insurance benefits while educating patients about their insurance-related costs.
·Direct uninsured and underinsured patients to Financial Counselors for screening regarding insurance eligibility or enrollment, or for additional assistance.
·Conduct point-of-service collections and manage patient payment transactions.
·Clarify Patient Consents, HIPAA regulations, and the Patient's Bill of Rights, addressing any inquiries from patients or their family members regarding registration or appointments.
·Scan Patient ID, insurance cards, referral forms (if applicable), and consent documents into the document imaging system.
·Timely escalate accounts requiring further attention to the Supervisor.
·Participate in all necessary training sessions to effectively execute the daily responsibilities of the position.
Required Qualifications
1. A high school diploma or its equivalent; and
2. A minimum of six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience engaging with the public, such as processing sales, managing orders, providing information, addressing customer concerns, and performing related customer service tasks.
