Job Summary

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Coordinator to join our team in the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery (HPB) program. As a clinical leader, you will deliver direct patient care and provide safe, compassionate care to patients with primary and metastatic cancers of the liver, gallbladder, bile duct, and pancreas, as well as tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissues (sarcoma).

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage patient calls and lab results, coordinating studies and specialty referrals.
  • Notify providers of upcoming orders and provide initial and ongoing patient education.
  • Direct the coordination of care for patients across disciplines and care continuum.
  • Partner with referring providers, inpatient and outpatient APPs and RNs, Nurse Managers, and others in clinical and admin practice areas.

Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recent RN clinical employment experience with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Medical or Surgical Oncology.
  • Knowledge of treatment and care for patients with primary and metastatic cancers of the liver, gallbladder, bile duct, and pancreas, as well as tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, skin, and soft tissues (sarcoma).
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to accept full responsibility for a defined and delegated area and patient caseload.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with physicians and other support staff.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and professional conduct.
