Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the Drug Utilization Management program to ensure the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medications within the hospital.
  • Facilitate and manage the hospital's pharmacy residency program, including precepting and mentoring residents, overseeing the program's curriculum and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management, drug therapy monitoring, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication safety, and guideline development, while serving as a resource and mentor to pharmacy staff to foster a culture of excellence in clinical pharmacy services.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and accreditation standards, as well as assist in the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy or an equivalent pharmacy education program.
  • Completion of a postgraduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency program.
  • Clinical pharmacy experience in a hospital setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the state of California.
